Design
Website design refers to the graphical component of creating a website. It's the look and feel, the layout of the text and images, the navigation system and any other visual components which contribute to the visitor's experience when browing the website.
Good website design should address the following:
- visual impact - is the site attractive, engaging, appealing? do the site colours, layout and graphical elements encourage to visitor to explore the site further?
- functionality - what the web site is required to do, such as display products, accept online payment, receive survey submission, collect email addresses etc.
- usability - is the purpose of the site clear? is the site user-friendly, easy to use? is information hard to find, or within a few simple clicks?
Good design also takes into consideration the project budget and offers a design which can be implemented as web pages within that budget.
